Oh yes it was I have a friend from work that told me about a place that he walks to on his walks everyday and at this time of the year there are tons of eagles and photographers

So I thought SWEET. H was saying they are very serious at their work and most do not even want to talk to anyone but he did get one to talk and found out the investment was to the tune of $16K for their camera yikes. This particular guy had come up from Seattle for the day just to stand there and shoot.

So after we found this place we are heading back Saturday so more pics to come....

BUTTERFLIES it is

Living in Washington State where we are we do not see any fun colored bright fun butterflies. But where I grew up in Montana where we had monarch beautiful butterflies. So from my childhood I remember them well. I had a surgical operation and I had half my body in a body cast and months before the surgery or might have been weeks. that I had found a Caterpillar mom and I had put it in a jar with leafs and sticks and placed on the top of the frig....Weeks after I heard mom scream and brought me a jar with an amazing sight. The biggest most beautiful monarch butterfly we had ever seen. Dad carried me outside and we let it go.

SOO with the tabbling in Butterflies this week and Hettienne brought to us for the Inspiration Avenue challange. Here are my creations

Captured this Sunday (yesterday) and if reflects how I feel

Ever have one of those moments where you just have a light bulb go on and like dah what the heck!!!

Well the last week that is what has happened to me. I have had a light bulb go on

I have never thought of myself as a hoarder I had a grandma that was but I did not know there was a name for it at the time. Well the other day I decided to move some stuff for some newer stuff and in that got rid of a ton of stuff.

I moved a table to make room for craft bin and the table went to the garage.

I tossed a ton of unused craft stuff

Well this was just the beginning granted this room, my craft and office/laundry space is still a mess

but it started something in my husband and we went through three closets totally getting rid if stuff we had so many sheets we never use and blankets we gave to the needy

Our pantry looks like we just moved in and the coat closet has a floor again

I got rid of half of my clothes. HALF that is huge for me. Boxed up the summer stuff and if I had not worn it in the last 8 months off it went into the bag.

This is very freeing!

I have even decided to redo the bedroom and make it more manly not African safari anymore it will be the

bear fur and the Elk stuff.

I gave my two cheetah lamps

selling my African pics

Just a whole Lotta new

and it feels good

I had to come to the realization that everything in my house is mine (well not daughters or hubby's personal stuff you know what I mean.

And not feel guilty for getting rid of something given to me 20 years ago

or that was even given to me in the last couple of years.

It was given to me there for no strings and I have every right to do what I want with it!!

There is a powering feeling in that.

One of my goals

I am making an honest effort not to give my kids things with strings attached!!

In talking about this with some gals at church we might for a group to help each other

that would be cool.

When I woke this morning I did not know the day was going to be so cruel I gathered my things and headed to art class. I was sitting at my table with my headphones on and an alarm sounded like back in the Hitler days. Huge long sounds and then the words... "The president has issued a decreed of Ban on art."
Ten hours later had felt like a dream. How could this be art was my life and with in a few short hours gone.
Billboards came down that has any art, People were summoned to box up all art supplies and put into storage. The art teacher was acting like no big deal and just started pouring out the water at the painting stations and draping cloths over the statues that were used to draw. What the Hell is wrong with this picture.
I gathered up all my art supplies and quickly put them in my bag. I even stuffed a small canvas in there.
Headed down the stairs and out onto the street. I walked down aways and then notices as I walked passed the bus garage that they were taking the sides off the buses that a local elementary school had won a month of art on the bus murel and off it was coming. I kept walking. A cold wind went over my face. I pulled up my scarf as I was about to have a tear touch the top of my cheek. As I passed to local book store that was attached to the art supply shop with one of those arch doorways they were filling up boxes of art books and as I went passed the art store CLOSED! The sign said closed I felt like dropping to my knees right then and there. I pulled my hat down over my ears and kept walking. How can this be happening I was an art major and now all shattered because of a president. What led him to this decision? when he was voted in congress decided to give him 3 notes of acts he could use with out going to congress and this must be one of them.
I crossed the street heading down to the park and the man who was always there painting was gone.
Passing the movie theatre the posters that go with the movies down with a
8 x 10 white paper in the center of the frame with the name of the movie in times new roman font.
As I walked passed the homeless folks at the benches they did not act any different as if their life had not been affected.... well it had not.
In my head all I could think was; "I am not boxing up my art stuff heck no". I kept walking and wondered if this was a world wide thing or just this country what about Inspiration Avenue our etsy team we are all about art, is this affecting everyone?
I finally came to my house walked up the brick steps and came to the big door wondering if my husband was home I opened the door slowly and went in. He came around the corner and said, "Hey hun how are you" I about flew off the handle in my head I wanted to yell "HOW AM I? WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING?" But before I uttered a word I notices he was covered in a white powdery dust which was unusual. SO I took a deep breath and said, What is going on here?" He said I just walled in your studio so you can continue to do art." I was ecstatic. I threw my arms around his neck and said thank you so much. Our office/studio did not have a door it had a hole through the kitchen window and a area that you could just walk in but now the hole is closed and the doorway has a door that looks like a wall. WOW cleaver! All my artwork through out the house was sitting propped up against the wall.
AND THEN I WOKE UP....
Seriously this was my dream this morning
How intense right WOW
I felt like a cross between Anne Frank, Hitler days and Merlin the TC show on netflix that does not allow magic. So very glad I woke up!!

bright pink lightening bolts all over my face

So I woke this morning and had experienced some massive night sweats do to the drenched nightly.

I got up looked at how wet my left side of my head was EEEW grose right.. Well later after coffee and awake I then go back to take a shower and there is bright pink lightening bolts all over my face. I was doing a drawing late last night and I have one cool pencil that I can dip in water and it is like paint so I drew on my hand...... Yup then all over my face it was as I must have laid on my hand in many different places through the night. Here is the kicker.. It will not come off.

Hope this gave you a giggle. I am laughing at my self so you can laugh too.

A delightful weekend it was ...
Went to a women's rally with ladies from church and got to see ladies I met at the retreat in May. Was a great time of laughter, tears and food.
At one point in the day I was talking to the speaker and it was so neat as I shared my life story in a quick nutshell she asked me if my canes were not a big part of my testimony and I said Oh no I forget about them half the time. We then talked about my book I am writing and through that I got to minister to her with a situation in her life.. I was like WOW.... in pondering that I was also stuck by the fact I am getting older and a lot of this comes from life's experiences and ups and downs in life!
I am a middle ages woman and proud of it!!!!

Ever wonder... did I say the right thing?

Me and Kel 2 years ago Whistler BC

I work in a nursing home and I deal with death on a daily basis but yesterday as my best friend had just lost her dad the words did not come to me. I kept getting choked. I have heard of this with nurses that loose their own family loved one and it hits different but I have never experienced this.

Our deep friendship we have and the closeness we have is in the heart and when she is hurting I feel it too. I can not say. "I know how you feel". because I have not had a parent die. We even talked about the difference in the feeling from a grandparent to parent dying. My dear friend is an amazing artist and photographer and I know she will continue to express herself in that way. She has always been such an encouragement to me and we go back to 7th grade when we met.

I do have an ear

A shoulder to cry on
A heart that feels
A deep connection
A tear
A passion
A deep faith
A rooted foot in the ground

Until we talk again dear friend

On a day when dark and fearful thing could scare me I take up the cross and claim to his word!!
Then the dark things of the night become bright and I feel protected!

One thing I do at night

when I can not shut my brain off

I have a favorite big fruit colored bowl in my memory from childhood

I picture Jesus

Holding that bowl in front of me and

I fill it with my checkbook, bills, car keys, etc

all the cares and worries I have and give it to him

for the night

then fall fast asleep!!

Was at my Husbands Company Picnic on the last last weekend and shot this class of sailors

Sleeping in

August Break Sunday Captcha

"Oh Look a three point"

Yep that is what I said on our way home Sunday from our lovely trip to the ER

From a lil fall I took at the church I just knew I had to go and have stitches

So off Morgan took me and we were in and out fast

ER staff was great they said Sunday morning are the slowest

Seven stitches later and a drive home I spotted this Elk on Mt Baker Highway and

Called it as I saw hubby was inplressed at that.

That is because we have been together for almost 25 years and he is a hunter and I know what I see. LOL

This guy walked across in front of us and then up a little bank to a Cherry tree and just stood there while I took pics.

This was just a few blocks from my house
Hubby and I went on a date
He is right in the middle of a 6 day in a row work week and I am heading out of town for a few days so we decided a quick trip to Ferndale Sonic and then over to one of my favorite parks

We got there and like hardly anyone there

We walked the grounds took some pics then decided to head home.
We drove through a cememtary
I do not know what it is about driving through the cemetary that is so peaceful to me.

We drove around and I had to laugh I saw them watering.... Looked at hubby he looked at me and said "I know what you are thinking". I then did it I drove down the road that was getting pelted with the sprinklers and luckily hubby remembered my camera was on his lap and got his window up seconds before the care got pelted with water it was awesome.

I love being spontaneous

I love dates with my hubby
Driving with the windows down
Listening to him sleep after a hard day at work
His lunch is made for tomorrow
My dryer is going
it is almost 1:a.m. yikes
I have been writing in my book that I am writing

I caught up on my shows today via computer as we are ditching cable

Still have it I am just getting mentally prepared to not have it. It is going to save up $100 a month to not have it.

Abundance of Lavender and thoughts

A week and a half ago I was not feeling well at all.

Last Tuesday I called in sick

By Thursday I was in the Dr. telling him I just do not feel right emotionally

We talked for quite some time and he is sending me in for blood work and a low dose of an ant depressant.

For which I do not feel bad about what so ever because I just want to feel right again. I feel like a part of my brain was scooped out by a spoon and in that spoon is joy, love, peace, happiness. Not cool huh and if you know me THAT IS ME all those things. So my goal is to feel right again and if a little medication is needed that so be it. I have a great group of friends that pray for me and I know I will get through this.

I could have posted this in my private blog on wordpress where I go to vent but as I tell my boss I am an open book.

I am tying so hard to not whine about the weather but REALLY I need sunshine and all I am getting are clouds till around 5 or 6 the sun comes out for a bit then more clouds. Doc thinks that might be the cause. I JUST WANT TO FEEL RIGHT AGAIN!!

Added next day:

WOW SUN came out and I had a good day all felt right even though I had a bad headache all day.

This morning I will go in and get blood work done to check thyroid, Vit D levels and Choloestorol. Yeah ME!! It all good even though the clouds are back.

Well let me tell ya living in the Northwest this year has been a bit challenging. We have had a lot of gray days I do not mean just puffy clouds I mean dark rain clouds and rain. I usually do not let the weather bother me much but this year has been different. I realized I am such a sunshine person that when we did not have it it really got to me. So I took out the camera and started capturing thing that made me happy and colors that just give me the warm fuzzy feeling. Here are a few from last night.

I grew up an only child that had a big imagination

But I truly believed that there were little angel fairies that sat inside the pansies.

and when we were not looking they would

jump out and ride on the dragon flies.

I was afraid of the dragon flies up into my teen years. The way they darted around and would hover would freak me out. As the little girl I who would play with hot wheels and star wars people and space ships in my mothers garden and make my own little village my friends would come over too with their hot wheels matchbox and star wars. When the dragon flies with their big wings would come hover over me I would pretend that they were dropping the little angel fairies off in my little village to visit.

AAAH the memories of childhood.

"Summer afternoon" Inspiration Avenue Challenge

Sitting on my front step having coffee the other day I shot a few images

One of my wild yellow roses

My 3 lavender clumps with my laminar lights

A dove that was sitting on a light pole (there were two but the poop would have shown lol)

Our cat Venus walking to me as i called her & stopped her from getting a bird

Over the last three weeks it started with a Dr. appt that led to a mammogram that lead to an ultra sound that led to a Bbiopsy.. yup all in a three week time frame with a scare of possible cancer in my right breast. Through the whole time I had a peace even on the table in the biopsy room. That was last Thursday morning.
Today the report came in as cancer free.
My plea to you ladies PLEASE check your self regularly and if any pain go to the Dr.
Just sayin!!! cause I care
This song has massive meaning and got me through this last three weeks.

What is the craft you ask?

My dear frend Julie Celebrated her 1 year of Sabriety and as our

Wednesday night group is not a AA meeting we decided to celebrate our way.

Was a blast we had a pot luck and then after everyone had ate I got up got the card every one had signed and I had had crafted these cardboard coins

all a little different and with our W.O.W (Women of Worth) logo on them. each one had a scripture or a atribute to her on the back.

We then each took a turn at going up to her and reading the back to her, giving her the coin and then a big hug!!

We then prayed for her next 365 days it was

AWESOME!!

Was my turn to host at Inspiration Avenue

and living in the NW man was starting to feel like I lived in the jungle

We finally got some Sun Friday on my Birthday

and it has stayed through the weekend yeah

Kayla turned 17 and I turn 42 Friday yikes

This is her and her best friend Shelby and her little guy.

They have known each other since middle school and

Shelby has even gone on vacations with us.

Their conversation these days is the prom

they are planning the fun night of dinning and pedicures and making memories

We are hoping for a photo shoot before they go.

I knew him he has been in our home a few times

The paper is all over the board with the accident which has come across now

as a heart problem not alcohol

I wish we were closer

of the house since November

We all were given a rock to carry around for a day and half never to leave alwsys having it close

Then Saturday night we named our rocks with the lies we tend to believe

Not good enough

Fat

Ugly

Ashamed

Past hurts that keep creaping up

we labeled them then laid them at the sword

which represents the Bible

So fun we left Friday morning with the day do do whatever

The retreat we wee headed to was a 1 hour drive and we stopped and had lunch at a new place ate on a slough in Edison WA at an out door cafe and went to a Clam factory where I took this shot

We hit up a few shops, Starbucks and just had a great afternoon.

So excited to be going on a girly weekend with friends

Some of my favorite images from this weekend.

I came out to the car to head to church and son had dropped of a dozen roses for me.

Funny cause I had already seen him earlier in the morning.

Daughter and I took a drive with camera in hand and a Blue Heron came down on the road right in front of my car and... no chip I took a deep breath and just enjoyed it.

Came home to more flowers and daughter made me lunch, took a nap.
Hubby did BBQ for the 4 of us and I did not have to lift a finger. Then hubby took me on a drive where we saw deer and a family of swans.
To sum up a good mothers day our first strawberry shortcake of the year.
